Geranium
Geranium has a spicy rose-like flowery aroma which is said to help the mind to focus and centre at times when it is overwhelmed with pressure. A tonic to the nervous system, it quells anxiety and depression and lifts the spirits. Through its action on the adrenal cortex, it can help to reduce stress and put the mind back in balance.
Geranium can be used for chakra balancing and to restore the equilibrium between male and female energies.
Sweet Orange
The uplifting citrus fragrance of sweet orange lifts energy and spreads radiant joyfulness. Its sunny aroma spreads a warm glow; helps to expel negativity, tension and stress; and encourages a positive outlook.
Orange is said to open the heart chakra, clear stagnant energies and stimulate the creative spirit.
In China, oranges are regarded as a symbol of peace, happiness and prosperity and are also believed to move and improve the flow of qi.
Lavender
Lavender is floral, light and clear, with woody undertones. It calms and centres the mind and therefore is a great aid for meditation. It cleanses and soothes the spirit, relieving anger and exhaustion and encouraging a calmer approach to life. These superior balancing qualities are also ideal for chakra balancing. Lavender is perhaps one of the best oils to use for purification, protection and for healing rituals.
Lavandin
The aroma and medicinal properties of lavandin are similar to those of lavender, but as it is a hybrid plant they are more intense and sharp. Clear, sweet and penetrating, it helps to boost self-confidence, hope and mental strength, and it drives away depression and anxiety.
Ylang-Ylang
Ylang-ylang’s sweet, floral, exotic and heavy fragrance is excellent for excitable conditions, regulating adrenalin flow and relaxing the nervous system. It is said to ease feelings of anger, anxiety, shock, panic and fear and instil a sense of grounding.
